January is the month of no holidays. In some ways I am happy for a break, but in other ways it is a little sad coming down from so much holiday fun. I love to make holiday shirts for my children, but since there are no holidays in January (at least holidays that kids like to celebrate or are easy to make shirts for), I decided to create a really fun Snowflake Shirt for each of my children to wear!
Yes, my son is in a short sleeved shirt. He wears them all year long. I DO make him layer up when we go outside though. (I don't fight him when we are inside and it is 70 degrees in here!) Oh, and he is impossible to get a photo of him where he is not making a silly face. So, silly faces it is in my house!
To create these you will need:
- white tshirts (I found mine at WalMart)
- dark gray felt
- needle and thread or a hot glue gun
- Sizzix
- Snowflake #2 die cut or similar
You will simply cut out a felt snowflake using your Sizzix machine and a snowflake die cut. If you want the shirts to last a long time and look nice, use a needle and thread to sew the snowflake onto the shirt.
If you want a shirt that will last about a month and you can peel the snowflake off when you are done, use hot glue!
I will not tell you which option I used for fear of incriminating myself. 🙂
