I'm Randi from Dukes and Duchesses and I'm so happy to be sharing my Silver Bells mantel here at Simply Designing!
This year my holiday decorating is taking a completely different turn from my usual rustic, down-home style and I'm adding a lot of metallics to the mix. I decorated my mantel all in silver with shimmers of golden candlelight I love the sparkly but warm feeling it's added to our family room!
This look is so simple and inexpensive to replicate. I started out by shopping around my house and used a large {tarnished} silver tray as the background against my old window then added some bright texture with my winter wreath. I couldn't resist throwing in some vintage espresso spoons to add a bit of interest to the scene.
I filled silver bowls with a variety of silver ornaments in different textures and matte and glossy finishes ...
... and I added some dollar store items that got a silver makeover. Nutcrackers were sprayed with silver paint ...
... along with pieces of a Christmas village ...
... and I set them all set against a backdrop of candlelight. The dollar store has so many great items that look completely transformed with a quick coat of spray paint.
To finish the mantel, I strung silver bells on coiled wire to use as a garland ...
... and used them as vase fillers as well.
Bright, fragrant paperwhites will spring out of these bells as the weeks go by!
I love the way this sparkly mantel catches the light of the Christmas tree and adds a magical feel to the room! May your Christmas be just as sparkly!
