Pink Lemonade Brown Sugar Hand Scrub
I am so hard on my hands. Between all the hand washing, dish washing, house cleaning, and DIYing, my hands take a beating.
I am really good at moisturizing my hands. But exfoliating them a few times a week is such a great way to pamper your hands, make them look great, and keep the moisturizer working well.
Using a hand scrub doesn't take a long time (you can easily do it after you wash dishes) and it can make a huge difference in your hands.
This hand scrub recipe makes my hands super soft and helps my lotion absorb into them better too.
Why should I make my own brown sugar hand scrub?
- It is inexpensive and you can save a lot of money
- You can control the ingredients
- You can adjust the scent
- You can tweak the consistency
- You can ensure it is made with ingredients that are good for your skin
What ingredients do I need to make a brown sugar hand scrub?

- Young Living's Valor Essential Oil
- Young Living's Lemon Essential Oil
How to make brown sugar hand scrub?
To make a brown sugar hand scrub you will simply combine Brown Sugar, Fractionated Coconut Oil, Unscented Castile Soap, Young Living's Valor Essential Oil, and Young Living's Lemon Essential Oil. You will want to store this in an air-tight container.
Does this really smell like pink lemonade with all-natural ingredients?
Yes, it does. The combination of the essential oils I use smells just like pink lemonade to me! It's pretty magical.
How often to use brown sugar scrub?
Personally, my hands get pretty rough, so I actually love to use this brown sugar hand scrub every day! For my Brown Sugar Body Scrub, I would use it a few times a week, and for my Citrus Brown Sugar Face Scrub, I would use it a couple of times a week.

Is scrubbing good for your hands?
Using a hand scrub on your hands is wonderful! It helps to exfoliate dead skin cells which leaves your skin feeling so soft and smooth! And because the dead skin cells are gone, your lotion or moisturizer will absorb and work better. So yes, if you like soft, moisturized hands, scrubbing is great for them.
Will this hand scrub leave my hands feeling oily?
I get it. I have used many hand scrubs that leave my hands feeling oily and like I need to wash them 10 times to get them feeling clean. Yuck. I hate that feeling.
Well this brown sugar hand scrub recipe has the addition of castile soap to it and so my hands are left feeling soft and smooth and clean, not oily! yay!
Where can I use this brown sugar hand scrub?
Well, traditionally a hand scrub would be used on your hands. However, you really can use this anywhere on your body! Brown sugar is gentle enough to be used everywhere, including your face, yet scrubby enough for your hands and feet. But I love this particular recipe for my hands!
Why do you add essential oils to your hand scrub?
I love adding essential oils to hand scrubs because they can add both wonderful scents and have therapeutic benefits as well. This brown sugar hand scrub contains Young Living's Valor and Lemon essential oils. And the combo of them smells just like Pink Lemonade!
I love to use this to exfoliate, refresh, and cleanse my hands any time of day.
