I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cascade. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
About a week ago, I shared with you my dish problem: I have a lot of them...and they never seem to end! I am sure many of you can relate 🙂 And in an effort to help get my dishes clean fast, I was able to test out a new dishwasher detergent!
Cascade Platinum is supposed to remove food that has been stuck on for 24 hours and eliminate the need to pre-wash. It is also supposed to help keep your dishes and dishwasher nice and clean!
So I decided to test out my new dishwasher detergent to see what it could do.
To be honest, my first attempt didn't yield great results. My alfredo sauce covered bowl did not get clean without a pre-wash. But my second attempt was much more successful!
I present to you, my kids breakfast dishes...
Yes, I let my children eat Coco Puffs for breakfast this week. They thought I was such a cool mom because Coco Puffs are a big treat in my house! But this results in chocolate covered bowls. And the cups were filled with some of my husband's morning breakfast shake. (That's a lot of chocolate for one morning! Yikes!)
These bowls and cups had been sitting for at least 8 hours prior to washing. (please don't judge!) And I did not pre-wash them at all. I put them in the dishwasher just like my above photo.
And they came out, looking like this...
They really did come out spotless and clean! Hurray!
I have tried a LOT of dishwasher detergents over the last couple of years and Cascade Platinum is definitely one of the best ones out there. My dishes are not very cloudy and my silverware doesn't have a film on them. Overall, my dishes are pretty nice and clean!
And while it couldn't cut the alfredo sauce, I am happy that I don't have to scrub EVERYTHING.
One really neat thing is that Top Chef judge and editor of Food and Wine magazine, Gail Simmons, has partnered with Cascade! She has partnered to discuss why food presentation is equally as important as preparation! And while I enjoy cooking, my presentation is not always the best! I could definitely learn a few tips from Gail Simmons!
Gail Simmons talks about how people eat with their eyes and their mouth and so presentation, from clean sparkling plates to brightly colors sauces drizzled across the plate, presentation is extremely important!
