I have really been enjoying making Trifles recently! They are so simple to make and my children especially love assembling them! And since I found the cutest individual trifle bows, we seriously can't resist making them! (individually sized trifles just tastes better, it's a fact!) So I came up with this delicious and refreshing Lemon Berry Trifle and I am so excited to share it with you today!
This recipe tastes light and refreshing and is perfect for spring, summer, winter or fall! Really! And you can modify this to use ingredients that are easy to find and to make it truly your own.
You will just need a few tasty ingredients and you'll have this whipped up in no time!
Lemon Berry Trifle
Ingredients:
- Lemon Pound Cake
- Lemon instant pudding (and enough milk to make the pudding)
- Cool Whip (approx 4 oz needed)
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Raspberries
- Blackberries
- Whipped Cream (optional)
Directions:
- Follow box instructions to make lemon pudding.
- Gently fold approximately 4 oz of Cool Whip into the pudding and place in the fridge to set.
- Wash berries and cut strawberries into bite-sized pieces.
- Cut pound cake into bite-sized pieces.
- Layer your pound cake, berries and pudding mixture into a large trifle bowl or into individual trifle bowls to serve!
- Top with whipped cream if desired.
If you don't have a trifle bowl you can just layer this in a glass cup and it will still look beautiful!
This is a really fun dessert to let your kids help with! My children love assembling trifles and this Lemon Berry Trifle is a great one for kids to be involved in! That way they can pick what goes into their own trifle and they will be sure to love it!
There are so many variations on trifle recipes but I think this creation I came up with for this Lemon Berry Trifle is about my favorite!
And a little dollop of whipped cream on top makes this absolutely scrumptious!
I let my kids both have one of these and they were in shock that they were allowed to eat the whole thing! (Clearly my kids don't eat a lot of dessert!) But since there are really only a few bites of cake and a couple tablespoons of pudding, the majority of this delicious treat is fruit!
