Our house is full of princess movies, but there aren't as many cute and appropriate movies for young boys in my opinion. So our family is very excited about the upcoming re-release of Disney's The Jungle Book! Now of course this movie is good for boys and girls, but my son loves animals and adventure and this movie will be right up his alley!
So celebrate the upcoming re-release of the movie, we decided to have a little Jungle Party at our house! So we went back to the bare necessities and held a little celebration to eat-as-the-apes-do: fresh fruits and vegetables! With a fun jungle theme! (Don't worry! I have these FREE Jungle Printables for you at the end of the blog post!)
We took a quick trip to WalMart to pick up some healthy tasty treats for our family party!
We found a lot of great produce to create a healthy feast as well as ingredients to make Monkey Smoothies!
Monkey Smoothies
serves 4
Ingredients:
- 2 cups milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 2 bananas
- ¼ cup sugar
- ice cubes
- Mix all ingredients on a high speed in a blender except the ice cubes.
- Add ice cubes one or two at a time until desired thickness is achieved.
- Serve immediately.
Monkey Smoothies are a HUGE hit with my kids! And they are quite healthy too so I love serving them to my kids!
We had a lot of fun coming up with other Jungle-Themed food too!
Tiger Tails - carrot sticks in dip
Bamboo Shoots - celery sticks in dip
Ants on a Log - celery with peanut butter in the middle and craisens on top
Tropical Fruit Kabobs - fruit on a stick - we used pineapple, red grapes and strawberries
Snake Eyes - green grapes
Monkey Smoothies - see recipe above
I'll be heading to WalMart on February 11, 2014 to purchase a Diamond Edition of The Jungle Book so we can get a free The Jungle Book lunch box for my son! (he is going to be so thrilled!)

Cute party idea! Pinned it 🙂 Silly question maybe but where do you get those bottles?

Thanks so much Connie!

The bottles are actually cleaned out frappuccino (sp?) bottles. I don't drink coffee, but I loved the bottles, so I dumped the drink and cleaned them out really well and they work great!!

Thanks so much for pinning and for stopping by!
