I love it when peaches finally come into season! I really do love peaches. And peaches make incredible pies, cobblers and even dumplings! Yes! Quick, easy, simple, inexpensive Dumplings! And I am really excited to share this delicious recipe with you! I think you will love it just as much as I do! It is a modified version of my Knock-Your-Socks off Apple Dumplings which are also to-die-for by the way, but I actually really love how this recipe highlights the peach flavor! It really brings it out and it is just scrumptious! So I am excited to share my Easy Peach Dumplings Recipe with you today.
Peaches are the perfect late summer and early fall fruit. Well, so are apples, but peaches are especially delicious in July, August and September and I really do enjoy them while I can! But this recipe enhances the flavor of the peaches so even off-season peaches would be yummy in this. I am sure canned peaches would work as well, but I haven't tried them. In any case, if you like peaches you will love this recipe!
Easy Peach Dumplings Recipe
Yield: 16 dumplings
Ingredients:
- 4 Ripe Peaches (you want the peaches to still be firm)
- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar (divided)
- ½ cup Butter
- ¼ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 4 teaspoons
- 1 can of Pillsbury Grands Flakey Biscuits, 8 count
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cut the peaches in half and remove the pit. Cut the peaches in half again, so you have quartered your peaches and then peel them.
- Separate each biscuit into 2 layers so that you have 16 biscuits total.
- Wrap a biscuit layer around each peach slice, overlapping and sealing at the bottom.
- Place all 16 wrapped dumplings into a greased 9" x 13" pan.
- In a small-medium sized saucepan, bring water, ¾ cup sugar, butter and vanilla to a boil over medium heat.
- Pour hot sugar mixture over dumplings. (It will look really soupy and runny.)
- Mix remaining ¼ cup sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle this mixture on top of the dumplings.
- Bake for approximately 25-35 minutes until the biscuits are cooked and golden brown.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream or however you prefer.
These are truly delicious. My family loved them and I am definitely making these again soon!
Yum yum yum!
