I love pretty door knobs, hinges and door knockers. I think they can truly make a statement and can convey your unique sense of style in a fun and playful way. The hardware in my home is currently oil rubbed bronze and while it is very lovely, it would be fun to spruce it up a bit!

Now that you're back...let's talk hardware just a bit!
When you are choosing hardware, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- finish (brass, nickle or oil rubbed bronze)
- style (traditional, contemporary, rustic etc.)
- price point
Price point is always important to determine before shopping for hardware, otherwise, I guarantee, you will fall in love with something you can't afford! (Or maybe that's just me!) Just like everything, hardware comes in a variety of price points so do a little research, set your price point, and then begin seriously shopping for a style and finish you love!
Everyone's style preference is different and that is ok! However, if you plan to sell you home soon, I would suggest choosing something a bit more traditional. If you plan to stay in your home a long time go for something fun that shows of your unique style!
Finish is important but will also be limited by the price point and style you are looking at. However, if finish is really important to you, try to be a bit more flexible with your style and I am sure you will find something you love.
