Good morning my friends! It is freezing (technically it is below freezing) here in Indiana and we have started to see a little bit of snow! That means I officially can no longer pretend that it is still fall, I need to embrace winter, boots, coats, hats, gloves and in generally, just being cold. But you know what always warms my soul up, chocolate. Ha! Homemade desserts with chocolate are always the best! So I am really excited to be able to share my Chocolate Saltine Cracker Toffee Recipe with you today! This recipe is one I have had for years...literally for years...and it is always a favorite. It would be the perfect treat to share, gift or enjoy by yourself next to the fireplace...no judgement either way!

Perhaps the best part about this recipe, is that while it was snowing outside, I didn't need to leave my home to get my ingredients! I used Meijer’s Home Delivery service, shopped by Shipt, to have my groceries and some toiletries and home cleaning products from Meijer, delivered right to my door. On the same day! I went online and added everything I needed to my cart, checked out, and a couple of hours later, everything was at my home! Which saved me so much time and energy! It takes a lot of time and planning to go to the store, especially with a baby, so I was able to keep her napping while someone else did my shopping and delivered everything I needed to me. I was able to use that time saved to complete a few other tasks on my to-do list instead. Then when my groceries and P&G products arrived, I was able to make my treat and then quickly pull my home in order for party I had planned for the next day!
Instead of spending an hour or more at the store, I was able to bake this yummy Chocolate Saltine Cracker Toffee recipe and play with my baby! I didn't have to worry about bundling everyone up, finding parking or locating things in the store. I saved time and sanity. Here is my recipe:
Chocolate Saltine Cracker Toffee Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 bag Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1 sleeve Unsalted Saltine Crackers
- ¾ cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 stick Margarine
Directions:
- Spread saltines in a single layer on a cookie sheet.
- Melt margarine and sugar in a pan over the stove.
- Bring margarine and sugar to a boil, and stir it constantly, for about 3 minutes.
- Pour the margarine/sugar mixture over the saltines and spread so that it coats all of the crackers evenly.
- Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over top of the crackers.
- Place the pan back into the oven for a couple of minutes until the chocolate melts (note that chocolate chips do not change shape when they begin to melt, so only leave your pan in the oven for a minute or two before taking it out)
- Spread the melted chocolate chips evenly on top of the crackers.
- Place the pan in the refrigerator until it is set.
- Remove the Chocolate Saltine Cracker Toffee from the refrigerator and break apart into pieces.
- Keep in a cool dry place (or in the refrigerator) until ready to serve.

Oh gosh, this is awesome! How convenient and a great time saver. Would use my extra time decorating for the holidays, including fixing up the guest room for out of town guests this Christmas! And I'd also love to sneak into the bathroom for a nice soak in my favorite bubble bath for some nice relaxing "me time". Ah the simple pleasures 🙂

Think of all you could get done !! Us moms really need all the time we can get. I rarely get over 6 hours of sleep (never more than a couple hours at once). Taking a hot bath would be awesome. But spending more time playing with son is priceless!
