One of the fun parts about cooking and baking right now is that I get to do it in my brand new kitchen! We recently remodeled our kitchen and I shared all about it HERE and HERE. The professional performance of my new appliances make cooking more fun then ever and I am finding the most amazing results too! I recently shared all about my awesome new appliances and I am thrilled that this post today is also made possible by my partnership with Frigidaire Professional.
My Chocolate Bundt Cake and yummy salted caramel sauce were both made using my new Frigidaire Professional Front Control Freestanding Gas Range! I really love cooking on a gas range! The temperature is so easy to control and I find that things cook quickly and evenly and I really do love cooking on it! And I am finding that I get incredible baking results from my new oven too! Wow I am impressed!
The Frigidaire Professional Front Control Freestanding Gas Range also has a PowerPlus® 2-in-1 Burner which I have found heats up really fast so it makes boiling, searing and sauteing foods so quick. And I just adore the PowerPlus® Preheat setting for the oven which greatly cuts down on the time it takes to preheat the oven! I was able to get my oven up to temperature to cook my bunt cake in no time. And the Smudge-Proof™ Stainless Steel resists fingerprints so I am able to keep my appliances looking great without needing to constantly clean them.

Chocolate Bundt Cake with Salted Caramel Sauce Recipe
Chocolate Bundt Cake
Ingredients:
- 1 stick (8 Tablespoons) margarine or butter, melted
- 1 cup water
- ¾ cup cocoa
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
Directions:
- Combine melted butter and water together.
- Combine cocoa, sugar, flour and baking soda together and sift.
- Use a wire whisk to mix butter and cocoa mixtures together, scraping the sides as you go with a spatula.
- Add sour cream, eggs and vanilla and mix with a wire whisk until combined and smooth.
- Pour into a bundt cake pan that is greased and floured (Since the cake is chocolate I would recommend "flouring" it with cocoa powder instead of flour, but either will work.)
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 50-60 minutes. (If you use the PowerPlus® Preheat setting on the Frigidaire Professional Front Control Freestanding Gas Range, it will cut down on the time your oven takes to preheat! It is my favorite way to get my oven up to temperature quickly.) Test with a toothpick, toothpick should come out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes and then turn upside down to remove from pan.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 stick (8 Tablespoons) salted butter

- Place all ingredients except salt into a heavy pan.

You had me at chocolate and salted caramel! As a total caramel junkie, I can't wait to try this.
PS I am super jealous of your range, I can't wait until mine dies so that I can talk the husband into switching to gas!

I have everything but the heavy cream. That is going on the grocery list. My two favorite flavors. I can't wait to make it.

I am an occasional home baker . I followed the recipe to a tee and it turned out beautiful and exactly as advertised ! I had a dinner party and the dessert was the hit of the evening, devoured by both the young and the old . Simple, moist, delicious, decadent and amazing ! Oh I am so glad that you liked the recipe and that it was the hit of the evening! I am so so happy to hear it! Thank you so much!

When I tried this my cake boiled over and I lost like half of the cake. My mom says it was wary to much baking soda and that I should have used like 1 1/2 teaspoons not 2 tablespoons. Other than that it was delicious.
Ashley Phipps
I am so sorry for the typo. I use 2 teaspoons of baking soda. I have fixed it in the recipe.

Made this cake for Father’s Day and let me say it was SO GOOD. The sour cream and the natural cocoa powder are the secret ingredients-the cake is decadent, moist, fluffy, and fantastic. Just one note: in the recipe it lists 2 tablespoons of baking soda, when I think you mean teaspoons (which is what I did). Will definitely be making this cake again and again!
Ashley Phipps
Yes, it is 2 teaspoons so sorry for the typo. I have fixed it!
Ginny Peterson
Definately a typo with the 2 TBSP of Baking Soda. Should be 2 tsp. Other than that what a great cake!!
Ashley Phipps
Thank you for catching that! I fixed it.
