Family Favorite Award-Winning Chili | #soup #chili #recipe #sponsored

In our house Fall = Soup time!  And one of my favorite soups is this amazing award-winning chili recipe!

This recipe was taken from my mom, modified by my brother and then modified again by me.  So it is a unique recipe that is a definite Family Favorite!  And yes, it even won an award at a chili cook-off contest!  Wahoo!

So it is a family favorite but also an all around, delicious Chili!

I am thrilled to be a Canbassador and part of their Cans Get You Cooking campaign.  And as part of this campaign, I am excited to be able to share one of our family favorite recipes with you!

I love to cook from scratch and there are a lot of whole foods that come in cans that are perfect for creating simple, quick and healthy meals!  And when I am short on time, or on meal ideas, having a well stocked pantry can help me throw together a great dinner, simply!

Here is how to create our Family Favorite Award Winning Chili!

Award-Winning Chili

Ingredients:

  • ¾ lb ground beef
  • ½ small onion, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • 15 oz can of Red Gold Tomato Sauce
  • 15 oz can of Red Gold Petite Diced Tomatoes
  • 16 oz can of Bush's Best Dark Red Kidney Beans
  • ¾ Tbs Chili Powder
  • 2 Dried Bay Leaves
  • 2 ½ Tbs Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon Cayenne (red) Pepper

Directions:

  1. Brown ground beef, onion and garlic in a pan.  Drain off fat.
  2. Add all other ingredients into pan and bring to a slow simmer.
  3. Simmer for 20-30 minutes.  Remove bay leaves.
  4. Serve with cheese, sour cream and a side of corn bread.  (or however you prefer to eat it)

Enjoy!

Canned food is a great way to get farm fresh foods to your table without worrying about spoiling.  And keeping a well stocked pantry is a great way to help ensure that you'll be able to cook tasty meals from scratch more often.

Enjoy our yummy family favorite recipe!!
