Oh man is it ever a busy time of year. Baking, partying, cleaning, delivering, shopping and...repeat. This year is particularly busy for us and while in the past, I have been really good about planning and creating fun ways for my kids to craft and get involved during the holidays, this year I feel like I am barely squeaking by...there is a severe lack in the arts and crafts department at our house at the moment. Which is why I was super excited to have the opportunity to try out a BabbaBox!
If you have never heard about BabbaBox before, these things are amazing! Once a month you receive a box in the mail, full of themed goodies: 3 projects, a book, a digital download and a little something for the parent. We were so excited to receive ours and my kiddos couldn't wait to delve into it!
BabbaBox is recommended for age 3-6 but my 2.5 year old insisted on helping with all of the activities! He needed a little more help, but he loved being involved! My 6 year old daughter however could not get enough! She is very crafty and loves art and is really very talented at it too - she has great vision. So she was totally enthralled with this BabbaBox; this was completely up her alley.
In our box we also got a landscape art activity where the kids pushed buttons, feathers and pipe cleaner into a piece of dry floral foam. We also got a great set of pastels with a mini canvas board to draw on so my daughter harnessed her inner Impressionist! And it was really fun teaching my daughter how to use pastels! In addition we also got a t-shirt "screen-printing" activity loosely based on Andy Warhol's pop art ideas. This was all super fun stuff!!
Both kids loved the foam activity. They created an owl together and actually worked really well together!
All of the supplies that we needed to complete each project were included in the box. All I needed was a pair of scissors to open up a little packaging.
In the midst of a very busy month, this gave me the ability to sit down and work on craft and art projects with my children without the extra time to pick projects and purchase supplies. It was pretty incredible!
My daughter really loved the pastel activity! She has so much dun drawings and smudging and perfecting her beautiful work of art!
The kids had a blast, I had a lot of fun, I enjoyed spending this quality time with them and they learned a few things too! Win - win - win!
