Hey there Simply Designing readers and friends! I'm Meredith and my neck of the woods is Wait Til Your Father Gets Home where I share simple crafts, DIY ideas, recipes, and fun things to do with the kiddos in my life. I've got an awesome husband and the two cutest little boys on the planet {well, at least in my planet}.
Today I'm thrilled to be here with all of you to share some ways that I incorporate color into our home. Let me start by describing our decor and furniture. Luckily my husband and I see eye to eye on most decorative decisions in our home. I'd describe our furniture as modern/rustic. We stick with neutral colors and browns for most big pieces {couches, end tables, kitchen table, bar stools, beds, etc...}. So, the more decorative items in our home are where I like to bring in some pops of color.
I'm a huge throw pillow person. Since learning to sew, I've tackled a few envelope style throw pillows for different spots in our home.
I also LOVE to leave our table set and ready for a meal. Now, this doesn't always happen since my two year old has a new found love of coloring in his coloring books, but when I can, I've got these beautiful place mats and cloth napkins out on display!
And, who doesn't adore a cute mason jar upcycle? I think I've got mason jars in every room of our house besides the kid's bedrooms. For this one, I applied one thin layer of Annie Sloan chalk paint and added some sweet white daisies for an instant pop of color to our kitchen.
There you have it! Just a few ways that I bring a little color into our home. What are some of your color popping tricks?!
If you like any of these ideas or simply want to stop by to say hello, please do! You can find me at the usual hot spots...
I would love for you to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pintrest and via email.
