Several years ago, my husband and I were lucky enough to be able to spend some time in Greece. While we were there we were introduced to these marvelous things - chocolate covered oreo cookies. Yum yum yum!
About a year or two later we began seeing them in the U.S. but they are a bit hard to find. They make chocolate covered ones and white chocolate covered ones and while normally I like regular chocolate better then white chocolate, I think the white chocolate covered oreos are the best!
My husband and I have been on this oreo kick lately...they are just so good, and you can't eat just one of them! Remembering how yummy the chocolate covered oreos were we had in Greece, and since I had green chocolate melting chips already, I decided to make my own chocolate covered oreos: St. Patrick's style!
It is so simple, really. I just melted melting chocolates in a mug and then dipped the oreo cookies in about half way. Set them on wax paper to dry and then we ate them all up! Yum!
And what to drink with Green Chocolate Covered Oreos? Green (Minty) Milk of course!
To make green (minty) milk, add a few drops of green food coloring to a glass of milk, and, if desired, add a bit of mint extract to give it a nice minty flavor! (I bet that would be the good start to a minty milkshake too...yum!)
Hope to see you tomorrow for more St. Patrick's Day ideas!
