Did you know that you could make paint???
Puffy Paint! Shimmery Puffy Paint!!
How cool is that?!?!?
And guess what? It is the perfect kid craft because your children can actually make this themselves with minimal help from you! And then, it gives them some fun paint to paint with! This is entertainment for hours!
I love love love kid crafts that kids can make themselves and then use! It provides a lot of enjoyment for them and educates them on how to make something! That is the perfect kid craft in my opinion.
And, the best part is that there are no complicated ingredients! I bet you have everything you need to make this right in your pantry!
Here's how to make your own Shimmery Puffy Paint:
Mix Together:
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup salt (this gives it the shimmer)
- ¼ cup water
- Food coloring
This will create a thick mixture.
Using a funnel, pour mixture into an empty squeeze bottle. (I used old glue bottles and, since the bottles aren't clear, I put a piece of paper around the bottle so my daughter would know what color the paint was inside each bottle.)
Let your kids have fun painting with their new Shimmery Puffy Paint!
(It will take a few hours or overnight to completely dry, depending on how thick they paint with it.)
I participate in the link parties found here.

Is this something you can use on clothes and wash?
simplydesigning.blogspot.com
Todd. No. I would not use it on clothing. Since it is water based, I imagine it would just come right off the clothing in water. However, because I put food coloring in it, that part might remain on the clothing.

Definitely more of an art project paint!

Ashley
