In an effort to settle into our house, there are a few furniture items we still need. I have been searching Craigslist until we find the perfect item, and the perfect (ie cheap) price and then snatch it up!
We found this writers desk back in the middle of winter but weren't able to work on it until it warmed up a bit.
It took a lot of work and my dear hubby helped me a lot with this project.
I forgot to take a photo before we sanded the desk, so here is my before-ish photo. Next we stripped it, and then re-stained it with a combination of two different stains in order to get just the right color. Then finished it off with two coats of polyurethane. And some new handles and knobs of course!
Isn't it a beauty? I love my laptop's new home!

It does look lovely! I have a similar desk I've been working on for ages! I'd almost finished, bar finding the right knobs, when the boys knocked a bottle of bluebell essential oils over it, and it's messed up the paint work so close to giving up on it, but yours looks so nice I shall keep going, thanks for sharing!

What a fabulous place to work!! I love it that these old writing desks can be utilized again since technology is getting smaller! Great job!
