Life starts to get really busy this time of year for our family. It is my busiest season for work and my husband is really busy this year as well. And between the holiday shopping, cooking, wrapping and extra activities for the children things can get a little crazy.
I always love to spend time with my children but sometimes I need an activity that doesn't require my constant help or supervision. So this fall I came up with the perfect Fall Word Matching Game Activity that was an absolute hit with my children!
I created a free printable using a few fall words (you can download it below) and my children used Alpha-Bits cereal to match the letters! They were able to improve their fine-motor skills, work on their letters, practice spelling and reading as well as eat some tasty cereal! What a fun activity!
This was a bit more challenging for my 3 year old son, but it was a great fine-motor skill activity as well as a great review of his letters for him.
Every time he would pick up a piece of cereal, he would tell me the letter and look for it on the paper. If he couldn't find it, he would tell me it wasn't there and then he would eat the cereal.
My daughter who is 7 and reads, also really enjoyed this activity! She was able to read the words and she had a bit more patience for finding all the letters. But she enjoyed eating the extras as well!
Needless to say, both of my children loved the cereal and they also loved this game!
I love that my son was able to review his letters in a fun and tasty way just by eating Alpha-Bits cereal and playing this fun matching game. Alpha-Bits is a nutritious, delicious breakfast and contains 20g of whole grains and 12 essential vitamins and nutrients per 30g serving. It is also pretty tasty too!

This would also be the perfect activity to do on Thanksgiving to keep the little ones busy while dinner is being cooked!

This is a fantastic idea! My kids are 3 and 7, too! But, my daughter (the 3 year old) doesn't really recognize many of her letters yet. This would be a great activity to help her learn them!
