Hi friends of Simply Designing! It's Diana from The Girl Creative and I'm excited to be here to share with you a simple little project that allows me to add a little bit of silver to my Christmas decor.
I've had this adorable scalloped wooden frame in my craft stash for months now and I've been waiting for the perfect time to use it and the time has come! I had been working on some Christmas printables and I created a fun Chalkboard art (download link below) when I just knew it would go perfect in my scalloped frame! And I was right!
For the past few years I've been adding some silver to my Christmas decor. Last year (or was it the year before??) I added some shimmery pinecones and some silver trees to my living room decor for Christmas. I loved how simple, yet beautiful it looked.
I was totally planning on switching to gold this year (which shocked even me! I've always been a silver or white gold kind of girl) but after working on my chalkboard art I just knew I had to paint the frame silver. It literally took me like 15-20 minutes to complete this project.
Note: I did have a before picture but I noticed I had some embarrassing things on the counter in the background (like gas-x! ha ha) and just could not bring myself to include it. ha ha
I took my wooden frame, foam brushes and some craft paint in silver and got to work. I painted my frame and then took some silver glitter paint and painted over it to add a little sparkle. To speed the drying process along, I plugged my hair dryer in and dried the paint. It was that simple!
