So today I wanted to tackle steak. Steak can be challenging to cook. If cooked right, is can be melt-in-your-mouth tender, but if it is overcooked, it will become as hard to chew as leather. And no one wants their expensive steak to be turned into leather. Sous Vide Steak is an easy way to guarantee perfectly cooked, tender steak every single time. Sous Vide Steak
Sous Vide Steak is such a great way to get tender, juicy steak every single time. Cooking sous vide ensures precise results consistently. And gosh...who doesn't just love a well-cooked steak?!
You can cook multiple steaks ahead of time and then give them a quick sear on the stove before serving. Or cook them just before serving. Searing at the end is optional, but it does give a nice texture to the outside of the steak that most people expect and have come to love.
What is Sous Vide Cooking?
Using a Sous Vide is an affordable and amazing way to get consistent results every time you cook. Sous Vide is a cooking method where vacuum-sealed food is immersed in a water bath and cooked very precisely. It is easy and fun and I am always amazed at what great results I get when I use it. Sous Vide Steak
Ingredients:
- Steak
- Garlic Salt
- Pepper
- Oil
Directions:
- Sprinkle garlic salt and pepper onto both sides of the steak.
- Sear with oil in a very hot pan on both sides.
- Place steak and the olive oil used to sear the steak into a Ziploc bag.
- Place Sous Vide into a pot full of water and bring it to temperature according to your particular Sous Vide and the done-ness that you want the steak.
- Place the steak in the Ziploc bag into the water and secure the bag to the side of the pot with a clip.
- When the steak is done, I like to give it another quick sear on the stove with oil or butter.
- Serve and enjoy.

When you cook Steak with a Sous Vide, you get a steak that is evenly cooked the whole way through. That means if you want a medium cooked steak, it will be the same pink-ness throughout the whole steak not just in the center.
Many people like to set the Sous Vide to cook at 1 setting of more doneness then they would like it cooked. Either way, you will get a beautifully cooked, juicy, delicious steak every single time!
