I actually don't have anyone graduating from anything this year. My son has another year in preschool and my daughter will begin 2nd grade next year. However, I have several family-friends who have kids (adults!?) graduating from high school this year! It's a super big deal! And so I thought, with a few graduation parties coming my way, it would be the perfect time to create a little Graduation Cap Gift Holder or Favor Box that would be a perfect way to celebrate the grad in your life!
To create a Graduation Cap Gift Box, you will need:
- DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paint, Lamp (Ebony) Black
- Foam Brush
- Tassel (in the school color of your choice, or gold)
- Round Cardboard Box with Lid (from any craft store)
- Glitter Black Card Stock
- Scissors
- Paper cutter (optional)
- Hot Glue
First I simply painted my round cardboard boxes black! And then I let it dry completely. The first coat covered well so I did not do a second coat, but you can if you need to.
Then I cut a piece of glitter black card stock (regular card stock would work too 🙂 into a square, larger then the box. I also cut out a small circle of card stock too.
Finally I hot glued my tassel to my square card stock and then hot glued my circle card stock on top of the tassel. And in just a matter of minutes, I had the cutest Grad Cap Favor Box ever!!
You could fill this with treats or a gift card. Even a tie would fit in there perfectly for a boy or a piece of jewelry for a girl! The options of what you do with it are truly endless! But this fun packaging is just the cutest!
Do you have anyone graduating this year!?

Such a cute idea Ashley, although I think my brother would probably prefer it with cash rather than chocolate.
