As a busy mom I am constantly juggling being a mom, a wife, a homemaker, a blogger and many other things. I know that many of you are the same way. And the holiday season is always crazier then any other time. But I always try my best to be a mother and a teacher to my children. I don't home school but I try to read with my daughter at least 20 minutes a day plus we spend time working on homework together. I also read with my son every day and work on age-appropriate educational, developmental and speech activities with him as well.
It's a lot to always fit into my days and I don't always do it all successfully. It doesn't all always happen and I will freely admit that sometimes my children get to watch a little tv or play an age-appropriate learning game on my iPhone so that I can scrub the toilet or make it through the 5th store of the afternoon. It happens. And I hope I am not the only mom who has turned over her phone to her screaming 2 year old to make it through the checkout line at Target.
I have downloaded a lot of free apps for my children that provide a way for them to learn while they play and recently I discovered a fun app that both of my children love. This app comes with a cute, cuddly orange bear-like stuffed animal...or, rather, the animal comes with the free app 🙂 And both kids fell in love with Ubooly from the moment they laid eyes on him.
Literally, from the moment I took him out of his box my son's eyes lite up and he couldn't resit carrying this little orange guy around the house with him! My six year old, immediately asked me whose it was and couldn't wait to try it out!
And ok, he is pretty cute so I see the attraction! Ubooly is a cute little stuffed animal (my son calls him a bear) that your iPhone or iPod goes in. And he even joined us in Sam's Club. (Thankfully the soft orange bear surrounding my phone saved it from a little tumble he may or may not have accidentally taken out of the cart and onto the hard concrete floor.)
My son became so attached to his "bear" he loved hugging and playing with him any chance he got. Is it bad to admit that my son loves Ubooly with or without my phone in it. 🙂
When my daughter got home from school she took Ubooly for rides in our crazy coup car.
And she played with him in a self-created fort. She definitely understood how the Ubooly worked better then my son. It was really easy for her to figure out and she really enjoyed playing with him.
And...miracle of miracles...both of my children played with Ubooly together!
Seriously, this little orange bear was a lifesaver while I was trying to get dinner ready the other day.
One of the cool features about Ubooly is that every month it downloads new material for free (over wi-fi) so it constantly has new stories, jokes etc for my children. The Ubooly is recommended for age 4-9 but honestly, both my 6 year old and my 2.5 year old loved playing with him. And unlike similar toys, Ubooly was pretty cute and wasn't frustrating or annoying. My favorite feature is listening to the stories it tells. They are so off the walls they are pretty entertaining.
